help needed! there is much confusion between argyle fans including my self over the away end. We understand the terracing has been closed for H&S reasons. But then some have tickets saying terracing, I my self have one saying uncovered temporary stand. So does this mean the stand at one end has temporary seating and standing - as it shows on hereford fc ground guide - and then one half of the cargill (?) stand have also more standing away fans? HELP ... thanks.

The only terracing is under the 'Cargill' Stand on the side of the pitch. There is a temporary stand behind the goal but it is open to the elements so you could get wet!

I'd get up from the table but i'm not done yet. |

Cargill is a double decker standing below and seating above on the Edgar Street side of the ground. The temp seating stand is behind the goal at the Blackfriers End with no standing area

Okay thanks for clarifying my position. I did ask for standing but they instead gave me seating, but by the time I relised I wasn't bothered for the main reason that I imagine the MASSIVE pillars would become a real annoyance, especially with previous expereicens at grounds like aldershot. However the obvious down turn of the temporary seating is open the elements and not much atmos will be able to be created. Nonetheless very exciting game in prospect, massive game for both teams and hopefully a good game of football... Last question how many away fans can then fit in as I imagine we would be bringing 1200+

There is a limit to the number of terrace tickets for exactly that reason, so the pillars don't obstruct anyones view. I assume you will be given the full allocation for away fans and I think that is about 1,300.

Just to clarify your original point, the traditional "away end" which your fans will know from the past is the Blackfriars Terrace(with roof). This sweeps around in a curve as the gound used to have a running track around the pitch. Yes this was closed for H&S reasons, maybe wrong but I think it was cos the roof was deemed unsafe. I certainly recall a Newport County fan falling thro it many years ago! At the same end immediately behind the goal placed in front of the old terrace is the newer blue seating. Open to the rain but can be made to generate "atmosphere" with heavy feet..
The Cargill stand runs the full length of pitch and backs onto the Edgar Street dualcarriageway, again you'll know it from the 70s. From halfway line to the BF end is for away fans, both levels. I recommend the upper seating for a good view, altho as said the visibility from the terrace below isnt too bad these days as numbers are limited, but get near the front. This otherwise forgetfull video shows the view from the top deck, and a glimpse of the blue seats too.
Hope this helps, sorry if stated the obvious.
Dont forget, in my experience going back to the 80s (FA Cup, winners get Arse at home) Argyle traditionally bottle the MASSIVE games at ES and I see no reason to predict a change this season ....

Thanks all for helping. We haven't done well enough when playing teams around us, with mainly all draws and couple of wins. However, positive for argyle include ( I believe) not being beaten by a bottom half team in the table since september, and only losing 5 in 21! yet we have drawn many of those. We have already sold out the terracing, and only the temprary uncovered seating left, with tickets selling fast so looks like we will fill up the away accommodation, and wouldn't be suprised if few filter in the home end in places. Best of luck with the rest of the season, albeit apart from the 6th April .

yh, just seen that. It is amazing support for where we are in country, league and from our last 3/4 years of football being dismall. If we have 1600 we would probably have sold out as well, as tickets have just flown out the door. It should be a great atmos, what are hereford fans like in terms of atmosphere? is there any one section with the main singing? It's only a shame that the argyle fans are going to be spread out a bit. Really looking forward to this now. For both teams, it is a make or break game.
