 London to Sheffield
« Thread Started on Jan 22, 2011, 10:31am »

Is anyone driving to Sheffield from London for the cup clash? I'm looking for a lift. Can help with petrol money and get to most areas of London near a tube station.

Offers appreciated.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread but I joined here last night and don't seem to be able to start my own thread although am posting on my phone on the way down to Leyton Orient so apologise if I've missed something.

If anyone wants any advice / help with regards their visit to Hillsborough next week then I'll be happy to help.

The main question I read last night was regarding availability of tickets on the turnstiles at Hillsborough.

Tickets will be available for the West Stand upper where you'll be housed and this holds around 4,000 but the first few rows will be taped off reducing the capacity to aroung 3,700.

Obviously if you do come close to selling this out then the West Stand lower tier holding 2,800 would be opened.

Anyone requiring student / armed forces concessionary tickets MUST by these beforehand as they will not be available on the day of the game and anyone with a student / armed forces concessionary ticket may be asked for proof on the turnstile and asked to pay the extra if this cannot be produced.

I noticed there are a few people asking about real ale pubs and for those I recommend The Fat Cat and The Kelham Island public houses both onlly a couple of minutes walk from the Supertram Stop at Shalesmoor just outside the city centre for which both are awarding winning real ale pubs and boast a bar full of these.

There is also The Cask & Cutler which could be your start or end pub before jumping back on the Supertram destination Middlewood which drops you off at the top of Leppings Lane where you'll find chippys, a KFC, jacket potato, pizza or kebab shops all in view when you get off and then it's a one minute walk down ill to your turnstiles.

Like I say, any questions I am happy to answer.

Safe journey

You could always try here and see if any Sheffield Wednesday fan has a spare place in his car
