I'm sorry if the forum clique don't like to hear it but I'm more interested in being right than being popular. The fact is that if Hanford hadn't let two in we'd be celebrating three points.

Hanford will be playing in The Championship within two years and HUFC will have earned a tidy fee off the back of his progression (I'm talking hundreds of thousands).

I'd rather he was playing in Div 2 with us in 2 years time, instead of all those 100's & 1000's, as they just get everywhere.

Agreed!

He will go far, still lots to learn but definitely full of ability and has another ingredient only a few keepers we've had have shown........ Pride in his job!

Do we have any info on the length of his contract because if it's only till the end of the season i'd sort that out pronto. He made some top drawer reflex saves last night as well as commanding his area really well without being afraid to come for crosses or in tamworth's case balls lumped up to their dirty number 7. Sign him up foyle! Hanford that is, not number 7

Well under the critical 24th birthday. So long as he's made a decent offer at the end of the season we will be able to claim a fee. If he continues to develop and perform the way he is then I'd expect him to be gone before next season.

I think we're jumping the gun in getting overly excited about Hanford just now. He appears to be an adequate shot stopper, but that's the bare minimum we should expect from a keeper. His distribution isn't too hot and his punch straight to one of the Tamworth players on the edge of the box (who had a goal with no keeper anywhere near it to aim for due to Hanford leaving himself stranded in no man's land) was worrying and gifted them a goalscoring opportunity.

I think there are signs he could be decent but I'm not going to get too excited just yet.

It's a pity Admin has deleted any posts older than a year but similar things were being said on here about Bartlett after his first few performances for the club.
